... A few things about our newest baby, Milo & Olive, located at 2723 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica. First of all it's incredibly cozy, only 26 seats at 2 communal tables and a dining counter, so we will not be taking reservations, but will be offering everything for pick up and takeaway. Secondly, it's a Bakery and Pizzeria, and pretty much open all day long, which is something we've always wanted to do. The bakery opens at 7AM daily, and offers a few café style breakfast items such as Free Range Frittatas with Weiser Farms Potatoes & Gioia Ricotta, Homemade Bagels with various Farmers Market Toppings, and a new and expanded variety of Zoe's Morning Pastries and Whole Loaf Breads. From 11AM-11PM each day Chef Evan Funke's kitchen turns out Wood Fired Pizzas, as well as Farmers' Market inspired Salads and Small Plates. Milo & Olive features a beautiful wide open kitchen, so it's the kind of place where you can enjoy your morning pastry and delicious Verve Roasters coffee or espresso beverage, and watch the kitchen roast vegetables, braise meats, and simmer sauces as they prepare for that days service. Lunch and dinner items are rustic and seasonal: Wood Oven Roasted McGrath Family Farm Pumpkin with Brown Butter & Wildflower Honey, Local Fried Squid with Crispy Lemons & Calabrian Chilis, Pizza with House Made Sausage and Braised Bitter Greens and much more. The bakery portion opens first, this Friday November 18th and we'll begin serving lunch and dinner on Thursday December 1st.
