Most Kick Ass Thing I Ate Last Week - Milk Chocolate Cream (Lukshon)

Week Of: 7/22/12 - 7/28/12
RestaurantLukshon
Address: 3239 Helms Avenue, Culver City
The Kick Ass Thing: Milk Chocolate Cream Dessert (w/ coconut sorbet, coffee streusel, ginger-chocolate sauce)
Thoughts: For a long time I avoided Sang Yoon's Lukshon because I partially (and probably irrationally) blamed its emergence as the reason fellow Asian fusion spot Beacon closed across the Helms Bakery courtyard. Hell, I adored Beacon so much I wrote a freaking haiku about their burger. But that's no reason to not eat at one of Culver City's most lauded eateries, so with dineLA Restaurant Week upon us a friend and I decided to give Lukshon's special $15 lunch a whirl. A great meal all around, but the dessert was something special - a chocolate cream surrounded by the wonders of coconut sorbet, coffee streusel, candied ginger and a delightful ginger chocolate sauce. Simply top-notch.
Awesome: Even on non-Restaurant Week days and nights, every customer receives a free (selected at random) dessert from the very talented Pastry Chef John Park.
Annoying: I still miss Beacon.
