Venice's Three Jerks Jerky Soft Launching Today

The funny thing about beef jerky is despite the fad diet boundlessness of the nineties and aughts, it has retained its place as a go-to American snack. Even funnier: it never got better. Like, we just keep eating the same AM-PM bottom shelve feeding jerky. And eat. And eat. Why? Because beef jerky is delicious. But, who does one have to sleep with around here to get a slightly superior jerky product?

Well, U.E.'s pleased as punch to report three Venice dudes (Jordan Barrocas, Andrew Dickson and Daniel Fogelson) are taking it upon themselves to change the jerky game by introducing Three Jerks Jerky, hyped as "The Original Filet Mignon Beef Jerky." That's right, filet. Not top round. Not some part of the cow you can't identify. FILET. Plus no nitrites, nitrates or MSG. The company, which launched in August 2012 and officially soft launches today, focuses on local - TJJ manufacture and package their product 30 or so miles east of DTLA and the meat comes via the Central Valley. They currently feature three flavors (jerky porn pics below): Original, Chipotle Adobo and Memphis BBQ.

As part of the soft launch, Three Jerks is following the Braff/Veronica Mars route by starting a Kickstarter page, in hopes of expanding their business. Give their video a look and decide for yourself if you want to donate - or just buy some delicious jerky from the jerks.

Original.
Chipotle Adobo.
Memphis BBQ.
