Creme Caramel LA Going Brick and Mortar September 9th in Sherman Oaks
Creme Caramel LA, a popular local creme caramel and bread pudding provider, is graduating to the big leagues. A stalwart at Southland-area farmers' markets and Artisanal LA events since 2010, the dessert maker will be opening their first brick and mortar store in ShOaks on September 9th. The shop won't just carry their signature desserts though. They also plan to serve pastries (think sweet and savory scones, like Salted Caramel and Chinese Sausage & Scallion), breakfast, lunch and "BenTea boxes" (a bento box/high tea sandwich hybrid - for example, Bacon Jam, Potato Chips & Cheese and Steamed Egg Crepe w/ Green Onions & Spam). Some of the BenTea boxes will include a new CC product, meringue with rainbow-dusted sugar, aptly-named, "Unicorn Poop," which sounds both awesome and scary. Also on offer: U.E. coffee favorite, Cafecito Organico, as well as Filipino-inspired Agua Frescas.
The bakery additionally plans to offer and showcase local artisanal favorites, like Sierra Madre's Mother Moo Creamery Ice Cream Sandwiches and LA favorite Nuttin Butter's Almond Butter, amongst others.
Although I avoid it like the plague, sounds like come early September, I may have to hop on the 405 and venture to the Valley for some dessert...
