YES, PLEASE. Bruxie Bringing Their Waffle Sandwiches To Santa Monica.

It's safe to say one of the best features of Los Angeles living -- aside from, of course, the weather, the women and Vin Scully -- is often times top local food concepts from other regions suddenly decide it's time for an "LA location." We saw it recently with Portland's celestial ice creamery Salt & Straw and just this week came word via carrier pigeon regarding an incoming Shake Shack, the Big Apple's finest fast food burger.

Especially popular of late it appears is the Hit Orange County Joint Opens First Northern Location In Santa Monica Trend. Following on the heels of this fall's highly-anticipated SideCar Doughnuts premiere on Wilshire and 6th, comes news that Bruxie, sweet and savory waffle sandwich slayers, will open their inaugural LA location on the 3rd Street Promenade. Taking over part of the former Yankee Doodle spot on the Promenade (with the majority of the space going to some sort of interactive Verizon store with a climbing wall that I don't really understand), this is a major get.

I've been to the original Bruxie in Orange multiple times and they make really delicious waffle sammies, both sweet and not-sweet. They actually feature TWELVE savory waffle sandwiches, which is a lot. It also doesn't suck that they offer authentic frozen custard (from Wisconsin) and above average waffle fries.

Bruxie Santa Monica plans to open in September.
